Organic Wheat - Triticum aestivum
Organic Sonoran is listed on the Slow Foods Ark of Taste, Sonoran wheat is believed to one of the oldest wheat grown in North America. Hailing from Northern Sonora Mexico, it had been grown since 1770. Commonly traded between missions on California coasts and finally taking root in the 1820's when it was used as a staple for tortilla making.
Exudes a nutty, rich flavor commonly used in baking bread, pasta, crust and any pastry imaginable!
