Organic Gold Marie Vining Bean - Phaseolus vulgaris

Gold Marie was nearly lost to extinction not to long ago, but was brought back by veteran seed savers and backyard gardeners.   Thankfully we still have this lively heirloom vine that produces alluring, golden-yellow, 6"-7" flattened pods that remain tender and juicy even when large.  The golden pods are quite ornamental in the garden.  Enjoy the way you would any snap bean, fresh as a snack, in salads, and beautiful on a veggie tray.  Also great lightly steamed, braised or sauteed.  Add to casseroles, soups, stir fries and other vegetable dishes.  Makes gorgeous pickled beans!  Mix with green beans for handsome contrast of color.
