This bean is perfect for gardeners who love dependable harvests and vibrant color in the garden. These classic bush snap beans produce abundant, tender golden-yellow pods with a mild, buttery flavor and crisp texture.
Golden Wax beans are prized for their versatility. Enjoy them fresh off the vine, lightly steamed, sautéed, pickled, or added to soups and summer salads. Their bright color holds beautifully when lightly cooked, making them as visually appealing as they are delicious. Excellent for preservation in canning, freezing and as a dry shelly bean!
This compact bush variety grows about 16–20 inches tall, making it ideal for raised beds, small gardens, and succession planting. Plants are highly productive and begin yielding early in the season. Because they are bush-type, they do not require trellising, making them easy to grow for gardeners of all experience levels.
As legumes, they fix nitrogen in the soil, supporting soil health and benefiting surrounding crops in your garden ecosystem.

Harvesting Tips
Golden Wax beans are best harvested young, when pods are smooth, slender, and a vibrant golden yellow. Pick when they are about 5–6 inches long, before the seeds inside begin to noticeably bulge. At this stage, pods are tender, crisp, and full of sweet, mild flavor.
Check plants every 1–2 days once they begin producing. Frequent harvesting encourages continued flowering and higher yields throughout the season.
For best quality
-
Harvest in the morning after the dew has dried.
-
Gently snap or clip pods from the plant to avoid damaging stems.
-
Store unwashed beans in the refrigerator for up to one week.
