Organic Non-GMO Open-Pollinated Rattlesnake Pole Bean Seeds

A beautiful, delicious, and vigorous heirloom, Rattlesnake Bean gets its name from the distinctive splashes of dark brown on its seeds, resembling the markings of a rattlesnake. Don’t worry, this one won’t bite. Even the green pods are striking, with a deep green background streaked in rich purple, making them as ornamental as they are productive.

This heat-loving variety thrives in hot climates and challenging summer conditions where other beans may struggle. Vigorous climbing vines can reach up to 10 feet, producing abundant harvests of long, slender, stringless pods that grow 7–10 inches when mature.

Rattlesnake Bean truly shines in its versatility. Harvest young for tender, flavorful green snap beans; allow pods to mature for use as shell beans; or let them fully dry for a rich, pinto-like dry bean with excellent depth of flavor. The beans are delicious sautéed, steamed, tossed into stir-fries, slow-cooked in soups and stews, or enjoyed as a hearty, protein-rich pantry staple.

A time-tested heirloom with beauty, resilience, and plenty of culinary options, Rattlesnake Bean is a favorite for gardeners who want both performance and flavor from seed to table.
