Organic Non-GMO Open Pollinated Blue Lake Bush Bean Seeds

Reliable and scrumptious, this variety is a brilliant choice for any garden. First developed in the Blue Lake District near Ukiah CA in 1961, this bean has garnered a huge "Lake Life" following! Phenomenal when sautéed, stir-fried, steamed, or munched fresh off the plant. Famously maintains desirable texture & flavor well after freezing or canning. Easy to grow, high yielding, and compact: a great crop for container gardening or small spaces.

Harvest: 50 - 70 days. Harvest often to promote growth. Pick beans when they are crisp, firm, & no larger than a pencil in thickness for best flavor & tenderness.

Do not plant in cold wet soil. Inoculate seeds with rhizobacteria, if needed, before planting. Water at the base of plant. Keep evenly moist, do not waterlog. Mulch at base of plants to suppress weeds and to maintain moisture and soil temp. Plant every 2 - 3 weeks for successive harvest. After harvest, turn into soil as green manure.
