Sierra Lettuce Seeds - Latuca sativa
Non-GMO Open Pollinated Sierra Lettuce Seeds
This frilly, sweet lettuce serves as a luscious taco shell, sandwich layer or salad green. Named for a region in which it thrives, the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Batavian-type. Slow to bolt and holds well under high heat, with superb resistance to bottom-rot and tip burn. Produces thick, bright, glossy green leaves with red veining and thick midribs. Growth begins in open habit, with a compact head forming at maturity.
Harvest: 54 - 60 days for full heads, 30 days for baby leaves.
Sierra is a Cut-And-Come-Again variety. Harvest outer leaves as they mature, or trim the whole head 1”-2” above the soil, and a second or even third round of greens will grow!
Requires light for germination.
While seeds are germinating, keep soil evenly moist.
Harvest in early morning for sweetest flavor.
